Last week was a pretty hectic time for me – we had submitted for approval an app version update for Fruit Alphabets as well as a new lite version of Animal Alphabets.

Apple’s approval times have become quite impressive. The version update i.e. the inclusion of fun facts for Fruit Alphabets was approved within 2 days! Check out the latest version of Fruit Alphabets here.

We are also launching the a new lite version of Animal Alphabets on the App Store soon – 23 March 2010. The fun facts feature is not available on the lite version and it is supported by ads – meaning its free for download at no cost.

Animal Alphabets Lite is our first foray into the ad-supported business model. We had blogged about it earlier (see here) decided to include a lite version of Animal Alphabets for free download after considerable thought – hopefully, it will work out as planned.

Our latest iPhone app, Fruit Alphabets, which is part of the Alphabets series has been submitted to Apple for review yesterday. At the moment, the app is still waiting for review but we are hopeful that approval will come before the end of February. If the approval time of approximately 6 days for Animal Alphabets 2.0 is any indication, this should not be a problem.

Once approved, Fruit Alphabets would be our first iPhone app launched in 2010 – can’t wait :)

Our Animal Alphabets iPhone app, which we updated to include new features, was approved for downloads by Apple on Friday. It is now available for download on the App Store.

We had submitted the revised version for approval on 1 February. The turnaround time for approval was less than a week – very impressive on Apple’s part :) . Apart from that, our next iPhone application, Fruit Alphabets, is also expected to be launched soon. If things go according to plan, it should be available on the App Store before the end of February – so do come back and visit us soon!

So new year’s eve has come and gone and we are now 3 days into the new year – time surely flies when you’re having fun. Its back to work tomorrow so (as a first blog entry for 2010) I thought it would be good to set out Better Logic’s plans for the year (or at least for the first quarter).

Apart from an updated and improved version of Animal Alphabets, we are planning to launch up to 3 more brand new iPhone applications by the first quarter of 2010. Work on these 3 applications has already begun but progress has been slower than expected (due to the numerous number of public holidays in December 2009). Working backwards after building in the time required for Apple, Inc. to approve apps, this means the apps ideally have to be (substantially) ready  by end-February – so the rush to complete the apps is now on!!

Happy New Year Everyone!! All the best for 2010!!

Animal Alphabets – Now Available on the App Store

Our first iPhone application, Animal Alphabets, was recently approved by Apple and listed on the App Store on 11 December 2009. It was truly a joy to be able to finally find out if there was actually any demand for a product that has taken weeks to develop.

The response so far – although not overwhelming – has been beyond expectations. Apple via iTunes Connect has this nifty feature which allows you to track the number of downloads on daily, weekly and monthly basis. And so I find myself faithfully each day logging in to iTunes Connect to obtain the latest download figures – its a combined feeling of suspense, excitement and fear all at the same time :)

With the listing of the app on the App Store comes new worries e.g. what if no one downloads the app? Action had to be taken – so I recently signed up with Google AdWords, it made sense to start advertising Animal Alphabets. If you’re reading this blog entry, my advise to you is this – delay no longer, download Animal Alphabets now!
